Call for nominations: Wyoming Library Association

The Wyoming Library Association’s Awards and Grants Committee is accepting nominations for outstanding librarians, libraries, and supporters of our libraries!

WLA awards are a great opportunity to recognize individuals and institutions that have made a difference in the community, successfully completed a project, consistently provided outstanding service, or have done something remarkable in a Wyoming library deserving of an award.

• Nominations are due July 15, 2011.

• Nominating is easy, just fill out this form and press submit.

• A complete list of awards and requirements can be found online.

• Winners will be publicly announced during the annual meeting in Cheyenne.

First summer melodrama volunteer sign-up and orientation May 2 at the Atlas Theatre

The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players Melodrama Committee invites you to this season's first volunteer sign-up night and orientation. It will be on Monday, May 2, 7 p.m., at the Atlas Theatre. 

This session is for front-of-house volunteers: box office ticket sellers, house managers, wait staff, bartenders, concessions staff and raffle ticket sellers. There will be signup sheets at the meeting for the melodrama's 19 performance days: July 14-17 (one show); July 21-30 (two shows during CFD); July 31 and Aug. 4-7 (one show). Come on out and sign up early for your favorite job on your favorite night. 

New volunteers are always welcome. Committee members will be there to conduct a short orientation and tour of the historic theatre. 

Reminder: Bartenders must have TIPS training, and it is also recommended for waitstaff. The next session is on Tuesday, May 3, 5 p.m., at the American Legion. We will have info on upcoming TIPS training sessions at Monday's meeting.

Melodrama auditions for "Dirty Deeds at the Depot" will be the week of May 23. Check out the CLTP web site at http://www.cheyennelittletheatre.org for more info.

Volunteers needed for RMTA Festival in Cheyenne

The Cheyenne Little Theatre Players are looking for people to volunteer for the Rocky Mountain Theatre Association Festival Feb. 9-12 in Cheyenne.

The festival will involve theatres from throughout the Rocky Mountain region including showcase performances, workshops, keynotes, and theatre competitions and auditions.

Volunteers are needed in various capacities each day. Below is a list of the dates and volunteer opportunities.

Wednesday February 9th:

Wyoming Community Media seeks intern/volunteer

WCM needs an intern or volunteer to cultivate additional capital and human resources in the forms of in kind and in cash contributions and volunteers for two events The Shoot Out Cheyenne 24 hour film making festival October 15 - 17 and the Cheyenne International Film Festival in May 2011. There are on going tasks related to fund development - sponsorships, events and donations from individuals and volunteer cultivation.

It's Melodrama Time!

Mike and Chris Shay have agreed to Co-Chair the 54th Melodrama, and they are in need of people to chair the Marketing/PR and Front-Of-House(Front of House consists of Box Office, Concessions, Bar & Wait Staff) Sub-Committees. If you are interested, please email them at melodrama@cheyennelittletheatre.org

We will also be seeking volunteers to staff our bar area during the run of the show. Anyone interested in pouring our refreshments must be 21 or over and TIPS trained. Free TIPS training sessions will be offered from 5-9:30 p.m. on:
Tuesday May 4
Tuesday June 1
Tuesday July 6

Location -- at The American Legion Post 6, 2001 East Lincolnway, Cheyenne

No need to register, just show up and they'll fit you in!

TIPS training is valid for 3 years. If you have been previously trained remember to check your TIPS card or online for the expiration date!

Information to follow soon on our annual Volunteer Round Up and Atlas Clean Up Day to be held at the Atlas Theatre in June. We will provide all of the needed information regarding our other Melodrama Volunteer Opportunities available to those age 16 and up at that time.

NIC Fest needs volunteers

Nicolaysen could use your help with NIC Fest, our summer community art festival that will be held June 25-27.
