The Wyoming Library Association’s Awards and Grants Committee is accepting nominations for outstanding librarians, libraries, and supporters of our libraries!
WLA awards are a great opportunity to recognize individuals and institutions that have made a difference in the community, successfully completed a project, consistently provided outstanding service, or have done something remarkable in a Wyoming library deserving of an award.
Details:
• Nominations are due July 15, 2011.
• Nominating is easy, just fill out this form and press submit.
• A complete list of awards and requirements can be found online.
• Winners will be publicly announced during the annual meeting in Cheyenne.

Nominations due Aug. 2 for Gene D. Cohen Award for Creativity and Aging

The Gene D. Cohen Award, sponsored by the National Center for Creative Aging (NCCA), recognizes and honors the seminal work of Dr. Gene Cohen, whose research in the field of creativity and aging has shifted the conceptual focus from a problem paradigm to one of promise and potential. Dr. Cohen has inspired us to approach longevity asking what wonders can be achieved, not in spite of age, but because of age. The award is presented annually to a professional whose research in the field of creativity and aging demonstrates these positive attributes.

Requirements
• A formal nomination letter
• A brief statement (maximum 500 words) detailing how the nominee meets the
criteria of the award
• Research Abstract
• Peer review articles or other related documents
• Up to 2 letters of support

Call for Nominations - Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame
The Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame showcases individuals, livestock and organizations whose distinctive contributions to Cheyenne Frontier Days have helped grow one man's dream into "The Daddy of 'em All." ®
Whether contestants, contract personnel, entertainers, livestock, organizations, families or volunteers, those voted into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame represent the wonderful competitive and cooperative spirit that has remained the hallmark of Cheyenne Frontier Days since 1897. Members of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum at the Associate Level (and above) vote for each class of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame.
Deadline for nominations for the Class of 2010 is December 31, 2009. Nomination forms are available online at www.oldwestmuseum.org While nominations to the CFD Hall of Fame are open to the public, only members of the CFD Old West Museum at the Associate Level or above will be eligible to vote when the ballots for the Class of 2010 are mailed in March.
