Ozy Theater makes promises it can't keep for April 30 improv show at the Atlas in Cheyenne

Found this announcement on Facebook. Since the event is coming us soon, and it involves comedy and raises funds for the local community theatre, we're sharing it. Please come out to the Atlas and give these poor souls some appreciation:

The doors open at 7:00 and the show starts at 7:30. The tickets are a recession-friendly $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. The proceeds from this show will benefit CLTP! Want to laugh so hard that week-old undigested Halloween candy comes shooting out your nose?

Ozymandian Theater is back from their three month Yeti Hunt in the Canadian Rockies to bring you an an evening of hilarious improv comedy!

The proceeds of the show will benefit the Cheyenne Little Theatre Players who have been so incredibly generous in their support of our shows and the other charities that we contribute to.

"Slice of Pie" screening Aug. 27 at UW

Accomplished Second City Theater alumni Rick and Laura Hall will show the new original short film, "Slice of Pie" at 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, on the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Center Main Stage. The event is free and open to the public.

The film is gleaned from Rick Hall's small-town stories called "Spellbinding" published by The New York Times. "Slice of Pie" is a humorous and heartfelt romantic comedy about the sweetness of exploring life's smaller moments.

The UW Department of Theatre and Dance hosts the Halls this week as part of its Guest Artist Series, which is sponsored by the Wyoming State Legislature through the Excellence in Higher Education Endowment. They will work with student performers and playwrights, presenting workshops on acting, musical theater, auditioning and playwriting.

Rick Hall is a writer/actor/producer who spent many years on the Chicago theater scene before joining Hollywood's film and television community. He has been involved with several films and a variety of television shows, such as "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "24," "Without a Trace," "Seinfeld," "Saving Grace" and "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Laura Hall is probably best known as the improvisational pianist on television's "Whose Line Is It Anyway." She also performed on "The Drew Carey Show" live episodes, and has toured the country doing live performances with "Drew Carey and the Improv All Stars."

Summer's over; Ozymadian Theater is just getting started

News from the Ozymandian Theater improv group in Cheyenne:

After a court-ordered three month hiatus, Ozymandian Theater is back with an all new sketch and improv comedy show that is promised to curb your end of the summer blues!

The proceeds of our shows will benefit "Operation Back To School". This is a program that provides income-qualified families with required school supplies, including back packs, pens and pencils, notebooks, and crayons. If your answer to any of those questions was "yes" than we wish you the best of luck...

For everyone else we are excited to announce that Ozymandian Theater is back with a brand new and all original sketch and improv comedy show!

Our show, "Good Riddance Winter," will run on May 28th, 29th, and June 4th and 5th at The Mary Godfrey Playhouse (on the corner of Windmill and Pershing, next to East High School in Cheyenne). The show starts at 7:30 p.m. The cost of tickets are $12.00 for adults and $10.00 for students. Proceeds from these shows will provide for two $500 college scholarships. We are proud to be offering this scholarship for a third year.

Every ticket holder may enter the name a Cheyenne High School graduating senior into a raffle. Winning tickets will be drawn at the end of our shows on May 29th and June 5th. The winner need not be present to win.

Both lucky seniors will receive a check for $500 upon proof of college enrollment for the 2010 fall semester.

Ozmandian Theater is back with an all new improv show coming your way on March 6th! This show will be all improvised so that means we will be making it up as we go along.
